Exploring memory, tradition, and the invisible threads that connect us.

Sydney Noland is a mixed media artist based in Lake Stevens, Washington. She earned her BFA from Ball State University, where she studied Visual Communications. After more than a decade working in design across professional sports, global health research, and higher education, she now brings that background into her painting practice.

Although painting was once her least favorite subject in art school, Noland began experimenting with house paint as a way to create artwork that reflected her own experiences and interests. What began as a desire to make art for herself developed into a practice of personal discovery.

Working on wood panels and canvas, she experiments with materials ranging from acrylic paint and oil pastel to colored pencil, chalk pastel, thread, and handcrafted elements. Her colorful, symbolic paintings draw from personal memories, family traditions, and the process of understanding her own internal world.

In 2026, Noland received Second Place in the 21st Annual Juried Art Exhibit at Onyx Fine Arts Collective in Seattle. Her work has also been exhibited at the Northwest African American Museum.
